Bespoke Tailoring

Here at Sergio Tosoratti we offer a quality bespoke tailoring services for ladies and gents. Having a suit tailor-made guarantees you the perfect style, with the look & feel that you want.

Whilst items bought off-the-peg may appear cheaper, this is often a false economy, as you will ultimately be compromising on various aspects, the first one being the quality of the fabric and ultimately the quality of the making and general look of the suit.

'Bespoke' is actually a term which dates from the 17th century, when tailors held the full lengths of cloth in their premises. When a customer chose a length of material, it was said to have "been spoken for". Hence the service of a tailor, who makes your clothes individually, to your specific personal requirements, is called "bespoke".

Choosing to go Bespoke allows you to get every detail right and gives you the freedom to have exactly what you need with the discipline of high quality craftsmanship.

The cornerstone of successful tailoring is in the blocks (silhouette) and the experience of the cutter and consequent making of the garment that results in an elegant and comfortable fit. Our patterns give that flattering look all customers yearn for.

The first thing we'll do is discuss with you what type of suit you are looking for, being an everyday garment or an item for a special occasion. We will talk through what you would like, what you want to achieve, and which type of style and fit would be most suitable for you. We clarify dates with you, making sure there is enough time to complete everything to your satisfaction.

Then we will show you the different clothes and materials on each range in order for you to make an informed decision. In all cases we guarantee that the suit will fit perfectly and will look great.

We are able to order for your bespoke garment the most luxurious 100% pure wool fabrics (and some silk and cashmere blends) from some of the best recognized cloth merchants in the world, including Scabal (12 Savile Road), Dugdale Bros. of Huddersfield and Loro Piana (Italy) to name a few.

We also work with Scottish mills who provide us with sporting tweeds (Lovat Mill from Hawick) for our customers who require a more resilient and high performance tweed.

We also have access to DC Dalgleish exclusive Reproduction Tartans that are authentic in colour and design to those worn in 1745 and before. They are woven in pure 100% new wool, using traditional weaving methods.

We are always keen to experiment with new fabrics and new styles too - if you have a particular idea or fabric or a special design you wish to adopt.

The process:

At your first appointment: We will take you through a range of fabrics, or if you have a particular fabric in mind, we will happily look at how this will be suited to the design of your choice. With your fabric needs chosen, we will take key measurement details for you, taking precise note of how you would like your garment to fit, whether snug for structure, or loose for comfort and so forth. Typically, we would allow an hour for this.

At your second appointment: (about 6 weeks after your initial appointment), your garment will be ready for you to try on, to make any fine adjustments if necessary.

Final appointment: If required, we will make any further adjustment needed, and your garment should be ready for you to collect.

Prices for a 2-piece bespoke suit start at £725.

Feel free to call to talk through what you need, or you can use our booking form to give us more detail about your requirements.
